Hmmm. . .probably not this week (watch, they will release it to prove me wrong ) The Halloween update didn't come till about a week before Halloween itself (I forget the exact update time) So the Christams update, if they even plan one, will probably not happen till a week before Christmas. Then again, I am not part of the head of ANet, so I don't know what could be going through their heads. . .

Well imagine how much graphics they have to design, right after Halloween, meaning they should not have had much time to work on these. I suspect they are working their butts off at to create these new outpost graphics, though I think they should focus more on gameplay updates

I don't recall reading anything from ANet that they were going to do anything special for Christmas. For Holloween we were told/teased about the Holloween Event over a month in advance.
Dunno, I'm not sure they will do anything.
My wish for Christmas - everyone recieves a Christmas stocking in their inventory that includes one obsidian shard and a special item like a USABLE piece of armor, a scroll (santa hat?), something that actually did something worthwhile.
Not holding my breath though.

I suspect they already have the assets and that they just need to put them in place.

Make the Charr have Santa hats on.
Rurik's FDS has one twine green, the other red.
Carolers in LA.
Change the names of chests to "Present" and change the appearance to look like a gift.
Festive music playing in the login screen/character seltection area (or as an option to have it playing in every area during gameplay).
Rurik or King Adelbern (sp?) dressed like Santa in all cutscenes and missions.

Well, as I said, giving everyone something useful this time is about all I'd care about. Or a small gift bag of goodies - dyes, jewels, shards and perhaps one item useful for each character that is applicable to their profession and level would be nice.
And of course, decorate LA - Giant Tree with blinking lights, candy cane posts, reindeer running around in the district, dress all of the merchants as elves, etc.
A crashed sleigh with a smattering of dead reindeer parts and a planted santa would be a bit much, perhaps.

Howabout we keep all the carebear holiday crap out of the game and treat it like a game meant for PvP, you know....like it says in your game synopsis? Not everyone appreciates or celebrates christmas.

If Nazis can stop WWII for the Olympics, Guild Wars will do Christmas. Holiday events = happy people. Happy people = good reviews. And dang it, it's Christmas.

1. Do you go out of your way to ignore the parts of the synopsis which refer to the PvE elements of the Game?
2. Some people do appreciate and celebrate Christmas. It's just a bit of fun anyway, like games are meant to be.
3. If you PvP then you will be unaffected by the celebrations - so why worry.
Sheesh!

ROFLMAO!! Best idea EVER!
How about instead of the halloween mask being replaced by a Santa hat, they have a special Christmas weapon? Perhaps a large 2 handed candy cane?
